History - How did the project start...

Albmuzika Trust is an project-fund which started its function in 1996, and its main aim is to provide music, musical events and instruments to help the Christian musical education of the people of Albania and to help promote the Albanian culture through the world.

Since the country has opened its doors, the churches have had to rely on music translated from other cultures, mainly England and the U.S.A. But the time has come for a country with such a rich cultural background, to have its own voice in the international music scene. This is where Albmuzika will concentrate its work; The fund attempt to provide the Albanians with music that is composed by themselves and to let the rest of the world know of such a tradition and culture!

The fund was started as an idea from Ralf GJoni, and backed by The International Church of Tirana, but has in these last years become more recognised by European Organisations in Finland, Holland, UK and the USA which are involved in Christian music.
Prior to 1996, Albmuzika functioned as the National Albanian Committee for the Unification of the Song Translations in Tirana. Valentin Veizaj and Ralf Gjoni who were the main composers of the christian music scene in Albania were leading the work of this team, members of which represented diverse and interdenominational backgrounds from Albania and elsewehere.
After the trouble Albania was going through, the committee started stalling and Ralf who was studying in the UK at the time, decided to continue his work abroad by calling western attention to the help of the Albanian music.

Present work and future projects

AlbMuzika provides the Albanian diaspora and Albanian music lovers with two weekly radio programmes on the internet. The radio programmes are produced by Ralf Gjoni in London, UK and Florian Bezhani in Philadelphia, USA. Radio Albmuzika has become one of the most popular Albanian radios online. This is the place where thousands of Albanians get their music, culture and news every week.

AlbMuzika also offers a wide selection of Albanian music CD's for sale. While we offer our own music productions, we also offer collections of the best Albanian music from different regions of Albania and Kosova. All CD's are digitally remastered and checked for any recording defects.

Album of Valentin Veizi released

Veizi is one of the most renown albanian composers who has won several prices nationally and internationally, lately with two winning songs at the National Song Contest of Albania sung by Elsa Lila.
In 1998, his songs "Ask the tear" & "It's my only heart cry"
were awarded first price at the international Contest "Discovery 98" in Varna, Bulgaria. The same songs get second prize at the "Voice of Asia" Contest.
His latest single "Longing", gets into the finals of the "FIDOF for Peace and Friendship" international festival in LA, California.

Valentin presently lives in the USA near Boston where he has compiled the best songs of his career into a album which Albmuzika has helped publish.
